Re: 3.5" and higher performance GPU in mini
What about the power consumption. The original mini had an 85 watt power supply, the current model has a 110 watt power supply. Adding these two elements would surely mean the need for yet again another power supply boost.
I'm all for "a headless Mac". But adding the above elements sort of goes away from what the mini represents. Small, simple, quiet, efficient. |

I'm with you on this one, a bigger HDD, while it has it's obvious storage advantages, isn't the best option with such tightly packed components. Also the increase of 25W power consumtion isn't too bad of a trade off for the performance increase of a C2D over a G4, just wish the GPU was still discrete and not integrated, but it still works for the target market and with more RAM you won't notice much with Universal apps. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

One of these in a Mac Mini will give it an advantage over an AppleTV.
...anyways, when are the bigger MacBook Air drives coming out????? |

The Mac mini has a ton of advantages, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Apple switch over the Apple TV to SATA soon. 2.5" IDE drives are just about dead in the water. |
