I upgraded my C2D mini to 4gb last night. Total time start to finish was 1 1/2 hours. Had a couple of problems I had to work through. Getting it apart was not a problem. It did take me 3 or 4 tries to get the fan connector off the front of the board. I had read about people breaking them and I was extra careful. When I rotated the top part back, the ribbon cable and the wireless cable both came loose. Putting in the memory is a piece of cake. The most time consuming part for me was getting the bolts back in that hold the top part down. I don't have a magnetic philips head small screw driver. Before I take it apart again I will buy one. It would make getting the bolts back in place much easier.
It worked properly when I first booted it. I had the video from OWC running on my notebook computer as I was taking it apart. That helped a lot.
My only recommendation to anyone thinking of doing it is to buy a small philips head screw driver before you start. |
