The Dell Mini 9 came out yesterday. Here's a good review. I'm a tad disappointed with the specs and pricing, but I like the styling. I would probably buy one if it had a 2.5" HDD instead of the solid state. I don't want to monkey around with 8GB or 16GB. That's just not enough space for movies and music.
I'm starting to think the Acer One is the way to go now. It offers the best mix of components and storage at the best price. I mean if you want something with an 8.9" screen, and can deal with the buttons on the side of the touchpad. |

Ben,
If your not in a hurry, I'd suggest waiting a little while.
Major producers are currently in the process of upgrading their various mini laptop ranges.
This is a new market arena where sitting for a while, makes good sense.
Cheers

| You may be onto something Aquafire. I don't know if this is true, but I read something about Microsoft taking the memory and hard drive caps off netbooks shipping with Windows XP. They said there was like an 80GB or 120GB limit when it came to the hard drive. |

My understanding is that MS upped the limit to 160mb drives. I looked at and read about several of these mini-laptops before choosing the MSI Wind. I think that if you don't mind the smaller 8.9" display, the Acer Aspire One is the best deal around and is unlikely to be beaten by anything that will come out in the next few months. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

Fox,
I may be wrong in saying this...
But I think you will find that XP Service pack 2, overcame that problem.
Cheers
