Isn't the power button a bit too close to the holes grid? At least judging from these pictures.

I only use the OWC AL enclosures. They look great, are very quiet, and use Premium Oxford 9xx FW chipsets. Add the HD of your choice and your set. (I typically use either Hitachi or Seagate)
I have 5 of them now, and will be adding at least 3 more in the near future.

This seems like a way better deal than the MiniStack for a dual SATA enclosure. It's also made outta metal!

We like these kind of enclosures (there are a couple very much like these) because they remind us of a Mac Pro  It would be a major advantage though, if at least they had FW 400/800 or even SATA connection outside as I think that's the future professional connection!

I have 4 of the USB/FW400 and 1 of the "Triple Interface" enclosures. (eSata,FW,USB)
some with IDE buss, some with SATA. Great product!

What I like about the new one is multiple USB ports. This is something the ministacks have that makes them particularly useful with the mini. I have a version 1 ministack that I bought for its fit with the mini as well as the ports. But combining it with the mini affects the heat dissipation of both of them, and I now think it would be better to have a separate external that sits vertically so as not to use too much desk space. I would buy this OWC device if it had FW400 as well as USB.

Just check their site, they have FW models, just not with the USB port and the button on the front. For the rest similar.

I meant with a USB hub to provide the extra ports like in the ministack.

I wish that I had four of those instead of my Fantom Titanium IIs. I went through this stage and kinda regret buying them. I have two OWC drives though. A Ministack and SATA Mercury On-The-Go USB/FW. Both were purchased in kit form. |
