Apple Releases 2.0.1 Software for iPhone and iPod Touch

Apple has released the 2.0.1 software update for the iPhone and iPod touch. According to the company, this version of the software includes bug fixes and supersedes all previous versions. No other specifics were given at this time. The iPhone and iPod touch 2.0.1 software update weighs in at approximately 250 MB. It's available through iTunes.

They can be painful to say the least. Especially if you update a bunch of applications from your iPhone.

MY iPhone came up with an error, couldn't apply the update and now the phone isn't working,

| Cool but mostly this seems to fix connection issues with the iphone and most likely is response to the iphone hack that someone released just a few days ago. |

I run my Phone unlocked and Jailbroke. Interestingly enough Apple did not change the baseband to relock the 1st gen iphones running v2.0. with this new update. It does destroy the jailbrake though. Maybe Apple has given up on the 1st gen.

This time it might be for the good.
As for me, still waiting on my local AT&T store to get more in...

Yeah what was that one product they gave up on recently...wasn't it called the mac-nano or something....

Perhaps, but I was actually thinking more on the lines of iPod software. They always seem to leave the previous generation back software wise when it could easily be upgraded. I guess that's how keep things (sales) going forward though.

I never download and install applications directly from the iPhone. I always use iTunes and sync them. I'm finding things to run more smoothly that way. |
