Anyone have one of these?
I'd like to get one...preferably in some color other than white. (blue) |

No not yet, but would like to get one. I like the blue one, but I'm waiting for the HDD Linux version since I would like to have room for media on it too and using multiple Linux distros (Linpus won't stay on there for too long). Also the SSD versions aren't fast enough write for my likings. I love how it has a SD(HC)/MMC slot and a 4-in-1 slot which when in the Linpus Linux OS you can use the SD(HC)/MMC slot to add to the total HDD size and leave it in permanently.
Here's some links if you get one though:

No doubt the black model pictured in the above link won't be available here.
I'm not really very picky about color (as long as it's not pink) but black wouldn't show dirt/fingerprints as badly as a white model. |

I'm wanting the blue model myself since the white would seem too much like the EEE. The only thing I'm not likeing about the AA1 is that it can only have 1.5GB Max RAM (chipset can support 2GB RAM), wish they would have done 1GB built in or use a dual slot configuration. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

You should since it broadcasts 802.11 b/g/n on 2.4GHz frecuency, if you have an extreme you just have to make sure it's set on 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz broadcast frequency instead of 802.11n 5GHz (or get a dual band router and run both). _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

Wal-Mart is now selling the Aspire One for $379.
However, they also charge sales tax.
Waiting for Newegg to get them in blue or copper.
Best Buy lists the SSD model in blue for $379 but it's currently not in stock.
Ditto J&R Electronics in NYC. |

I have no problems connecting to a WLAN.
However, when I plug my cable modem's Ethernet cord into it nothing happens. I cannot connect to the web that way. ??????? |

I purchased an Acer Aspire One (blue) from Circuit City last weekend. The 8GB SSD model with 512MB of ram.
Since purchasing I've wiped the system and installed Ubuntu as well as upgraded to 1.5GB of ram.
8 days into ownership and I'm a big fan. _________________ -=iMav=-
