Adium 1.3 Released
Monday, August 25, 2008
Posted by: Glenn
The Adium team has announced the release of Adium 1.3, a major update to their free instant messaging application for Mac OS X. According to the developers, "this release improves almost every aspect of Adium, ranging from performance and memory to Facebook chat support, and from user interface polish to much improved MSN support with personal messages." Adium 1.3 also includes a brand new Contact Inspector that brings together all of your contacts in one place, as well as numerous bug fixes. You can view a complete list of changes here. There are far too many to mention individually. Adium 1.3 weighs in at 22.1MB and requires Mac OS X 10.4.0 or later.

I really like Adium. But the longer it goes without real A/V support, the more I find myself using iChat. _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

| I have a feeling that 1.3.1 will be coming sooner rather than later. This thing keeps crashing on me. |

| Seriously guys. You people don't think the Adium devel team works hard enough? They've got enough on their hands with the whole Leopard bug fixing and such. They are working on native integration, you people just need to stop complaining. You guys are lucky that you have anything at all. |

Take a chill pill man. I am very grateful for the work they do. I'm just having some issues with this release. |

| I was using Adium to chat with my Yahoo buds for the longest time, but that was until Yahoo Messenger 3 beta came out. It's a pretty slick client now. I especially like the way it handles voice and SMS. |
