Thought we had an off topic, catch all forum around here, but I guess not.
Anyway, I was curious to know if we have any former Amiga heads in our ranks...Amiga is poised again to rise from the ashes with the new "AmigaOne" computer and upcoming Amiga OS4 release...
The computer is a PPC with a proprietary firmware called "UBoot". I've been planning on buying one for the past month or so, but availability in the US has been poor to say the least. The latest iteration is a micro-ITX board with 256MB of RAM and onboard ATI graphics (64MB VR, I believe). The downside is that it is over $800 for the board and Amiga OS4. (you GOTTA be a diehard Amiga fan to justify that cost!)
I'm not really expecting to be very productive with the OS...just looking to ride the wave a bit to see if they can actually make a comeback and have some fun tinkering around...
