This was super scary at first but I muddled my was through it. Lot's of horror stories of confused folks trying to use this tool. Now I'm happily running 2.0 software 1st Gen iPhone unlocked and jail-broke. Here's one of the hundreds of places to get this tool right now. Have fun and read up on it if you need to use this.
