| Could anyone advise what I would need to be able to get streaming audio from radio stations that are online? I've been able to do that on my old iMac for years, but I am unsure what software I would need to also do that on my brand new Macmini. |

There are also many widgets that pull up internet radio station feeds. Start looking here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/radio_podcasts/
I have a few of these and my favorite is Rabbit Radio which lets you pick from a list of NPR stations. For me, these are among the most useful widgets I have--it's a particularly good use of the Dashboard.

I just use Itunes to play internet radio feeds.
It also works for the college radio station of my school (I play DJ there sometimes :p). |

Is there anyway to add to the radio stations that are prepackaged with iTunes?

You can add streams to a playlist by downloading the .pls file.
