BTW, it wiped my iPhone completely clean to do the update, it's now resyncing all my music and videos so, it's going to take even longer. At least the update is done and it seems to be usable again. |
We posted at the same time.
Well, that's good to hear. I'm still going to wait for a while. |

I wouldn't even touch this yet. The servers are so choked up that tons of iphones are crashing because they cannot get through the entire process. There are hundreds of post at macrumors of some ticked off people right now. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

All is well here. It took awhile but, it looks like it's finishing up. That's why I was started checking early this morning. I new it would be a while for the download, I just didn't anticipate the delay with having to contact the iTunes Store.

If that is the case, I wouldn't even multi-touch this yet.
I just got back from an AT&T store and they were sold out of the 3G. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Grrrrr...
I asked my updated iTunes to check for an update for my iPhone before coming to work and it said I had the latest version (1.1.4). Now I have to wait until late tonight to update my EDGE phone as I have a lot going on throughout the day and a Baseball game to go to tonight. Sucks too, I watched the "guided tour," looks like a lot of cool new stuff... _________________ --Marcus

| I'm downloading, but it's going incredibly slow. Meanwhile, I'm downloading apps on another computer at the speed of light. |

My DSL feels really slow today. Coincidence? I think not. |

1.1.4, 1.1.4, 2.0, 2.0, 1.1.4, 1.1.4. I'm starting to get a little iPissed....
I think they should have kept home activations. It might have slowed down the flow some. Who planned all of this? This is so unlike Apple. |

It's 19:30 EST, firmware 2.0 still not available for my iPod touch.. (I see a blank "iPod" page then it goes back to my iPod summary).
Edit: it's now 20:45, and they've gone back to the "iPod software 1.1.4 is the current version".
Edit: it's now 00:25 (2008-07-12) and after three "iTunes server is busy" I finally got through. It's paid for and downloading as I'm typing this. I'd estimate the download speed at around 400~500KB/sec, which is excellent! _________________ Mac mini 2010 (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz/8 GiB)

Why is everyone still bitching and moaning? We obviously have the current version. It's 1.1.4....
Welcome to the club man! That's been going on for me since 8:30 am this morning. I was able to grab the iPhone update, but never for the iPod touch. I have a feeling that it won't be posting until the morning now. _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

I just installed the 2.0 software for the iPod touch. It took me almost 45 minutes to download and install.
Everything is working brilliantly. I've already installed 10 applications from the App Store. Wow, this could become very addictive and expensive. I wish they had made the process a little more complicated. |
