Adium 1.2.6 Released
Wednesday, July 2, 2008

The Adium team has announced the release of Adium 1.2.6. The big news with this release is that ICQ connectivity was restored with libpurple 2.4.3. Apparently, an ICQ network upgrade earlier this week left Adium users out in the cold. The latest release of libpurple also fixes several issues with the Yahoo!, Yahoo! Japan, and QQ instant messaging services.
Other fixes in Adium 1.2.6 include:
- Decreased spam on the MyspaceIM service.
- Fixed some situations which could lead to the dreaded "MSN list synchronization" errors.
- Fixed an ancient bug in which the wrong event would be displayed for a contact status change, such as "Contact Came Back" when the contaasct disconnected.
- Fixed a crash which could occur when a contact changed status while a new chat window was open with that contact.
- Fixed saving/restoring message window positioning on 10.4.
Adium 1.2.6 weighs in at 20.8MB. It requires Mac OS X 10.4.0 or later.
[Update:] The Adium team has released Adium 1.2.7. According to the developers, a "mistake" found in version 1.2.6 was causing major problems with XMPP.

| This has been a very solid app for a few years now. Updated often also. Glad they finally got file transfers working a while back. |

| Yeah, they seem to do a nice job. I wonder how many people actually work on it? |

The list of developers looks about 14-15 people long. Decent sized team.. |

| I haven't been using Adium much lately, but I'm glad to hear about the Yahoo and ICQ fixes. That's mostly what I use the little ducky for. |
