Over the years the folks at Gmail have been tinkering with how Gmail works and it's rarely been for the better. Switching between accounts has become tedious.

When I log out of a gmail account, I am swifted away to the login page, with my last username already prefilled. That means I can't switch to another account, unless I first quit and restart the browser. I think this behavior is due to a gmail cookie that expires only when the browser is closed. I want the log-in username box to be empty when I go to the gmail login page.

Is there any solution?

I use Dashlane to choose usernames and passwords. I have a mini with OSX 10.7.5 and use Safari.
