Elgato Releases EyeTV 3.0.2 Update
Thursday, May 8, 2008
Posted by: Brian
Elgato today announced the release of EyeTV 3.0.2, an update to their TV recording software for Mac OS X. New features and improvements in this release include full support for H.264 broadcasts, closed caption support in QuickTime format exports, the addition of Sweden in the tvtv electronic programming guide, separate deinterlacing options for Standard TV and HDTV, improved On Screen Menus, the addition of an unplayed recordings badge, support for additional hardware, and numerous bug fixes. EyeTV 3.0.2 is a Universal application. It requires a Macintosh computer with built-in USB 2.0 ports, a compatible TV tuner, and Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

I can't wait to get home from work to see that one. I've always found the menus to be a bit on the blurry side. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Two comments.
1. Maybe it's my TV, but I can't see a difference in the clarity of the new menus. I did notice the HD and Stereo icons in the details menu though.
2. I like the new badge (even though it's a tad ugly) for your recordings that haven't been played. It definitely makes them a little easier to find. |

I agree. That was a nice little addition. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

This upgrade allows New Zealand users to receive Freeview HD DVB-T broadcasts perfectly without a hitch. I had it up and running in no time.
EPG is still an issue natively, but the solution can be found here: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=83&topicid=21857 |
