Connect with GUI

Ok guys/gals...what is it I need to be able to connect from linux to my mini? If someone can lead me in the right direction.

I need it to be gui connection. It will be using wireless connection also.

Also when I tried using ssh to connect to the mini, I get error message:

What type of 'connect' do you want? Are you looking for filesharing? VNC?

As for 'gui connection' - I assume you mean you want to be able to use a GUI utility to connect from your Linux machine to your Mac. What flavor of Linux and desktop environment are you using?

As for your SSH question - in the System Preferences, under Sharing, make sure Remote Login is checked and configured to use SSH.

Yep, VNC is what I was thinking but I always had problems with trying to connect from Windows at work to linux at home.

This machine is using Fedora 8 with Gnome and bedroom computer using Debian Sid with Gnome.

I'll check into the Preference section for ssh.

As for VNC access, again in the Sharing system preference, make sure Screen Sharing is on, and configured for at least one user. Also make sure that "VNC viewers may control screen with password" is checked with a password (it's accessed with the button "Computer Settings").

Ok, thnx again...I'll work on VNC to see what happens. Also do I need some kind of VNC client on the mini?

SSH is working but I guess don't quite know what to do with it.

Can you run OS X programs from the command line?

Well it seems after activating File Sharing, Windows Sharing & FTP sharing I can browse the mini machine with no problems using a file manager. Fedora seems to have picked it up automagically. kewl... Cool

Now, activating Windows Sharing, does it only work for Windows or is this why Fedora picked it up? Just a thought.
