Just to supply some information. I am fairly certain that marriage pre-dates Judaism. Both Hinduism and Sumerian cultures had this concept several thousand years before Judaism:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinduism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_of_Ur-Nammu
You might also notice a few similarities to the "Code of Ur-Nammu" and some concepts in the bible.
But back to the McCain vs Obama thing...

Has Hilary lost her marbles....?
Honestly, bringing up Obama and Robert Kennedy's assassination after the California primaries...has an almost 'wish fulfillment' ring to it. It is disgusting.
And her so called 'ranks' of women supporters (mostly wasps) are already out on the streets, squealing outrage that the Democratic Party's rank and file members are growing in support of Obama.
According to Hilary's cardres, all Obama supporters are sexist misogynists..
Yet how can this be, when accoridng to themselves, over 55% of all Democrat card carrying members are women..?
Clearly, the supporters of each camp, have all voted according to whom they like the most. It couldn't be fairer than that...
But here I am watching her and her increasingly bitter and twisted supporters telling the world, that they'd rather vote for McCain than Obama.
Well, if ever Obama, needed to a clear reason as the why he should not consider Hilary as a running mate....this is it...
They'd rather vote for the opposition than vote for a Black Man...and one that they consider a Misogynist..
I have never much trusted Hilary and her camp; but now the world can see them all for what they really are....

Superdelegates?
We have them in our Australian labor Party.
They are often made up of Union bosses, and Committee branch leaders..
In both cases, what the ordinary rank and file members, end up with is a sense that...
"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"...

It was a poor choice of words, no doubt, but never was Obama's name referenced in the statement. If you analyze it for what it was you can understand where it is in no way a reference to Obama but just a gaff. What she was implying was that in Bill's campaign, he didn't wrap up the nomination and was still campaigning in June of '92. Bobby Kennedy's assassination was in June as well. A statement that was made in error but I do beleive it was not meant as a threat to Obama. It could be the final straw, yes. I did say I wasn't going to post any more in political threads, but as politicians do, I flip flopped. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

But even if you and I accept it on face value, the trouble is, that there will be God knows how many psychos, who will have listened to that message and 'read it' as code to kill Obama.
That is the problem..

I didn't really think much about it, other than, what does RK had to do with this campaign besides, Cali & June.
Now that you put it that way...wow, the freaks come out at night! _________________ G4 Mac Mini | 1.25ghz | 1gb | 40gb | OS X 10.4.11 | 37" Westinghouse HDTV

It really gets annoying how a politician saying the same thing a billion people a day say get so much bad press. If a politician said, "Fu**" or something similar out in public because their drink spilled on them, the press would go nuts over it. That's ridiculous. We have to remember that politicians are simply human. I don't like Hillary Clinton one iota. I can't stand her. I can't even stand to look at her, but I didn't think anything of her words, and don't think she was implying that Obama is going to be shot as Kennedy was. The press makes too much of too little. _________________ Mac Mini - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz; 2GB DDR2 RAM; 120GB HD.

Well, when I first saw this poll, I thought that Devo was quite brave to dismiss Hillary from the options - I mean, what if she had beaten Obama? But, Devo was absolutely spot on; Hillary has conceded to Barak.
Here's a mystery; why is it that every time I visit Google Videos, I'm confronted by an ad for John McCain? Is Google partisan? _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

...I don't know, maybe cause McCain is a better choice and Google is smart.
or maybe he knows he might loose to Obama and needs to pay for advertising on a website many visit. |

Google can't be that smart...
The site you are linking is Google Videos UK (United Kingdom)
Last time I checked, the Amercian states, didn't allow Olde Colonial Masters, to vote in their elections...
I could be wrong here, but think it might have something to do with a certain event that occured way before Google was ever invented...
So, that makes any McCain advertising...a singular waste of money...

Oh Aqua! You've gone and mentioned "The Event That Brits Don't Like To Talk About"....
You're right though. McCain ads aren't much use on the UK version of a Google site. I'm not sure who I would vote for if I had a choice. I thought that Obama was a really charismatic guy, until I learned that he favours bigger government. Here in the UK, we've had 11 years of a 'bigger government' party, which wasn't a problem while the interest rates were low and money was sloshing around. But now things are tightening up, the country's struggling to afford the Labour Party's spending spree. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

I'm whiffing a little bit of conflation here...JB..
Obama is still a charismatic guy. His innate quality (of charisma) is not related to your having learned he is in favor big government.
That said, like yourself; I must agree.
I am deeply suspicious of Big governments.
Most especially self abrogating socialist style Central Planning systems.
But I doubt that Obama will be so brave as to wield the congressional axe and wrestle more control out of the state legislatures, than other presidents before him.
As for myself...
I prefer Libertarianism... _________________ Of the four X systems in the world.

Unfortunately 'bigger government' is a fact of all modern candidates. Some claim to not be, via traditional party associations or just personal statements but when they're elected, they rarely seem to follow through on that. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external
