Flip4Mac WMV v2.2 Released

Telestream has announced the release of Flip4Mac WMV v2.2. Flip4Mac WMV is a collection of Windows Media Components for QuickTime that allow you to play, import, and export Windows Media video and audio files on your Mac using your favorite QuickTime-based applications. According to the company, this release includes improved support for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Other changes include:
Player:
- Added JavaScript support to the browser plugins
- Added support for URL Stream Scripting
- Improved ASX handling
- Improved support for MMS servers and live streams
- Improved compatibility with many different web sites
- Removed the user enabled "Create Streaming Movies" preference
- Added support for manual Deactivation/Reactivation
- Fixed potential security issue reported by Drew Yao where an attacker could potentially cause a security issue by deliberately malforming WMV files.
Exporter:
- Significant encoding speed improvements for Intel Mac
- Improved video quality when encoding 2-pass VBR
Flip4Mac WMV v2.2 requires an Intel-based or PPC-based Mac, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, and QuickTime version 7.0 or later. You can download the free player from Microsoft's website here. Prices for the full version of Flip4Mac WMV range from $30 to $100.

| Removing the Create Streaming Movies option is really annoying. It was an extremely useful feature especially for long streams. |

Any news on this front PanicSteve?
I've been search for info on this to solve non-streaming of radio stations in itunes.

| Can this be used to view steaming Netflix video? It seems a shame to be paying for it, and not be able to use it. |
