Okay, I should have read the specs a little closer. I received the following message when I tried to print a test text file:

"The application TextEdit quit unexpectedly.
The problem may have been caused by the
IJPrintQuality plug-in".

I also received the same error when trying to use Word to print something.

So, I went first the Apple support site, no help. I then tried the Lexmark support and drivers at their site. It was then I found that there was a an issue with the above error message popping up on OS X 10.5 Leopard systems. So, I delved a little deeper and find that they were supposed to have released a driver in December of 2007, but have not released as of this date. I don't need an expensive printer for my system, just something that works with Leopard well enough to print a few simple text and document files.

If I've learned anything here, its the fact that I am beginning to have issues with companies like Lexmark. It's almost three months since the supposed fix was to be released, and here I am...

Does anybody have any ideas on a printer I could buy that would work with this system? I really have limited resources at the present time, having just bought the mini, keyboard, mouse and iPod Shuffle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It looks like Lexmark has a driver for the Z1300 that was released on 1-18-08 for Leopard. You might give that one a try. If that doesn't work, I would take a look at some of Pixma printers from Canon. I have been thoroughly impressed with my MX700, and with Canon's support of OS X. The MX700 is one of their more expensive printers, but they also have photo inkjet printers in the $50 to $100 range.

Thanks. I looked everywhere for the driver, but was so tired about that time I must have overlooked the obvious. It prints now, and there seem to be no problems. Again, thanks.
Very Happy

Tired... been there, done that.

I'm glad to hear that you got it working. My old printer was a Z53, so I'm no stranger to their somewhat confusing site.
