How can I get one without HDCP?

I don't want any of that Hollywood copy protection crap in a monitor I pay for and own. Its anti-consumer, anti-user, anti-fair-use and worst of all, adds to the cost of the device, for no purpose other than to frustrate anyone who might use it.

Isn't HDCP supposed to be for HDMI anyway? How were they able to add HDCP to an existing standard such as DVI-D?

sorry to Hijack this thread, but i have a few questions regarding compatibility with the HD2200 monitor and an older mac mini (i'm not sure what the exact specs are on my mini but it was the first series that came out - 80 gig hardrive, no dvd burner, i upgraded the ram when i bought it).

The display looks great with the mini connected through the VGA cable (mini dvi output with dvi>vga converter) except when I put a load on the processor I notice a bit of screen flickering in the darker areas. When I connect with DVI it works and looks great for a few minutes, then starts to look like a static TV, then the monitor stops receiving the DVI input altogether. I'm not sure if the cable is DVI-D, I or A, but it is a newer cable so I assume DVI-D? I know the DVI cable and input on the monitor are good because I had my HD comcast cable box connected with DVI and it looked and worked great (I now have the cable box connected with HDMI which looks great as well). I also tried zapping the PRAM but it made no difference. When I go into the display setting on the mini the HD2200 profile shows up, so it does recognize the display.

Is a large resolution like this (1680x1050) too much for my computer?
Does the mini just not have what it takes to use the DVI cable?
I don't know much about the HDPC thing, could that be an issue?
Could it be that I have the wrong DVI cable?

thanks for the help
