Hi. I'm new here and i recently baught the Mac Mini 120GB version (The most expensive one at the store forgot all the specs and all.) What i want to know is if any of these games would work (considering if I want to install Windows XP and i refuse to use Vista):
Final Fantasy XI (most recent expansion is Wings of the Goddess or something like that)
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade
Guild Wars (newest one i don't remember the name)
Phantasy Star Universe: Ambitions of the Illuminus (I currently play this on PS2 and i want something with less lag)
I just want to make sure if i can find a way to play any of these on my mac and if not then i wouldn't bother install XP onto my mac.
I would also like to ask what MMORPG games for sure work on the MAC that are decently big.
Edit:
For those who want to view the system reqs for each of these games here's the url to them:

Others have posted that WoW works, I don't know about the other games in your list. Guild Wars does not appear to have a release for Mac (like all the NCsoft games AFIAK). So, your options with that game would be software emulation (CodeWeavers Cross Over for example http://www.codeweavers.com/) or installing Windows via boot camp. If you install Windows you are guaranteed compatibility, but you'll have to boot into Windows to play games.
So, that is the reality of things. Pretty much if you are a gamer you are stuck with Windows. Sad but true. |

I can vouch for WoW, which runs very well on my machine with 2 gigs of ram. I don't have the expansion installed so I can't vouch for that. The other games I'm afraid I'm not familiar with. _________________ Powerbook 12" 1.33 PPC/512MB/64MB/60GB

I wouldn't see why Phantasy star wouldn't function in bootcamp.
Considering the graphics engine really isn't that advance. |
