MacBook Air Shipping, Apple TV Software Update Delayed
Wednesday, January 30, 2008
Posted by: Glenn
Apple today announced that the MacBook Air is now shipping. The MacBook Air measures an unprecedented 0.16-inches at its thinnest point, while its maximum height of 0.76-inches is less than the thinnest point on competing notebooks. Apple also announced that the new Apple TV software update, which allows users to rent high definition movies directly from their widescreen TVs, is not quite finished. Apple now plans to make the free software download available to existing Apple TV customers in another week or two. Both products were announced earlier this month at Macworld San Francisco 2008.

| Noooooo! I was really hoping the Apple TV update would be released this week. In fact, I mentioned about the two weeks being up this morning. |

I'm just happy they aren't charging for the ATV 2.0 update. I probably won't rent that many movies, but I'm excited about the new user interface and the addition of the Flickr and podcast sections. I guess since they have a couple more weeks to work, it would also be nice to see them add internet radio. I somehow don't think that will happen, though. |

| First big deal if they release a apple tv update and if you can use handbrake to make mpeg 4 videos of your movies then why would you want to rent movies. |
