Thanks for the link, DCGuy. I've always liked the old iPod Minis, but wasn't so keen on its mechanical HD. Now there's an answer!
I'm gonna go and trawl around eBay to see what I can see.... _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

i dont know about u guys but i really like the u2 ipod styling, the fact is on ebay and such, people jack up the prices insanley, like 200$ for a 20gb monocrome ipod used. so this is my solution, buy one for like 40$ (broken with a dead drive) buy the adapter, and the cf card 4gb for like 40$, and boom i have a reasonably priced u2 ipod, one of a kind modding, a good expierience, and bragging rights all for around 80$ _________________ powerbook g4 15" 1.5ghz backlit keyboard, 80gb 768mb

iPod Minis are a pain in the arse to work on, it's so easy to break the connector on the clickwheel.
I think a 4G U2 iPod is a great idea. At least here in the US, you can pick up 16GB CF cards for about $60. Might be worth it to go big. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

Clunk, your choice of words betrays you. Have you been hanging around with limeys?
BTW, you're right. I found a video that was meant to make it look easy - but it doesn't succeed!
