I was just searching around for more information on this and ran across an article on PC Mag about the wireless functionality. It sounds like you can only go about 15-20 feet in the same room. The resolution also maxes out at 1600x1200, but it says they should be able to go higher by mid-year. Actually, I think this is the max for the wired solutions too. There goes any hope of using my 24" Dell with this for now. |
What I read on Gizmodo was, it will transmit wirelessly up to 30 ft and you can use a 30 ft VGA/DVI cable so, you can get up to 60 ft away, theoretically. _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

Just think <insert your own flashback music here> your mini is in your den/home office and you can view it in your family room/theater room! |
Actually, my mini is just a wall separated from the family room and a 2 or 3 meter* cable would be sufficient to watch videocontent from my mini directly on the family screen! No Apple TV needed! An optical cable goes right into my Onkyo TX-DS 989. If I had a IR repeater to the living room, I could even use Front Row!

Hackers - I missed this at CES - never made it to the South Hall. Where is info about the wireless version?
I would like to have a small wireless monitor on my coffee table to use as my main control screen, leaving my plasma directly connected to the mini for showing movies.... _________________ MacMini 2GHz C2D 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD| Panasonic TH-37PX60U | iPhone 3G 16GB
