3.2Ghz ... nice.

32 GIGABYTES OF RAM!?! DUDE! AWESOME!

4TB HDD ... well that was logical

1.5 GB Graphics card... mmm nice one

All in all sounds an awesome machine.

You live in the UK, home of some of the greatest ales on earth, yet you consider the ricewater swill called Budweiser as an option?

Yes, I know I know. No harm intended. I think I just want to live vicariously through other's pubs.

My last pint in London when I was there last spring (yes, I take pictures of family members too, but beer is more important). It was decent, although not the best one I had during the trip by any stretch.

You're talking to a student! REAL lager is expensive! Bud and Carlsberg come in at 15cans for £9.99 (roughly $18 direct comparison, but I know you guys get food and stuff cheaper cause your tax is different) which is ideal... whereas some of the fine stuff (mmm Badger... Razz) costs £2.99 for a single bottle which is getting on for enough money for a sandwich, soft drink, packet of crisps and a miscellaneous piece of fruit.

So at beer-to-lunch ratios, you get 5 cans of Carlsberg to 1 lunch, or 1 bottle of Badger to 1 lunch... the maths say it all; Carlsberg (or Bud, whichever is coldest in the store chiller) wins.

Anthro! You're a northern English bloke who's admitting to drinking Budweiser? On a public forum? Shocked We all have our idiosyncrasies, but I'd keep that one to myself if I were you! Wink Razz Very Happy

Actually, since going teetotal some years ago, Carlsberg is one taste that I miss. Sad

Clunk, your "beer snob" credentials have been reinstated (we'll forget about the Stella admission Smile ). Abbot Ale is a good drop.

(I also miss the taste of ale. Bass, Flower's, Marston's Pedigree, Black Sheep, Bishop's Finger, Spitfire. Heck, I might even get sentimental about Boddington's in a minute...)

I think Stella/Budweiser really shows our societal connotations with various consumer goods. Here in the US, Stella is an import, priced as such. If you drink imports, you're a moderate beer snob. If you drink craft brews, you're even more so. Apparently in the UK, if you drink Stella you're a chav.

Same goes with Budweiser here. I don't want to offend anyone, but Budweiser has its own societal connotation, sometimes involving pickup trucks and mullets (okay sorry for the joke, HM!).

I try to ignore that, and drink what I like. Tonight's brew is Mississippi Mud Black & Tan. It's not too complex, but it's drinkable. It's odd that a black & tan would be brewed in NY, but labeled as Mississippi Mud. It can't figure out where it's coming from. Can't beat 32oz for $2.99 at Trader Joe's.

The upgrades are expensive from Apple, like with the HDD 4TB cost $1600, but for 4x1TB only costs around $1000 to aftermarket upgrade. RAM is a big killer, it cost $9100 from Apple, only $2749 from OWC. Other than those the others are decently priced, nothing out of reasonable range I can see.
