Apple Releases Security Update 2007-009

Apple has released Security Update 2007-009 (10.5.1), (10.4.11 PPC), and (10.4.11 Universal) via Mac OS X's Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, Security Update 2007-009 (10.5.1) is recommended for all Leopard users and improves the security of the following components: Core Foundation, CUPS, Flash Player Plug-in, Launch Services, perl, python, Quick Look, ruby, Safari, Samba, Shockwave Plug-in, and Spin Tracer.
Security Update 2007-009 (10.4.11) is recommended for all Tiger users and improves the security of the following components: Address Book, CUPS, ColorSync, Core Foundation, Desktop Services, Flash Player Plug-in, gnutar, iChat, IO Storage Family, Launch Services, Mail, perl, python, ruby, Samba, Safari, Shockwave Plug-in, SMB, Spotlight, tcpdump, and XQuery.

| No issues here. It also felt like it installed faster than some of the other updates for Leopard so far. |

Same here.. .I think because is was so small... I think is was only around 35Mb.... |
Maybe. Most of the others seem to have updated the boot caches. I might have missed it, but I didn't notice it updating them this time around. |

Have any of you tried repairing your disk permissions after this update? I know that it's not a necessary thing to do, but I just wanted to see what would happen (beta testing  ). After repairing the permissions, I'm getting a ton of new "SUID" errors. I know Apple has said these are basically benign, but they are still troubling to me. What has gone so wrong between Disk Utility and in Tiger and Leopard? I have no confidence in it anymore.  |

These fated "SUID" errors are supposedly going to be addressed in the 10.5.2 update... no worries... they are harmless...

My system updated the boot cache when it finished installing and rebooted.

My update took what seemed forever. In fact, after 30 minutes I restarted my Mac mini via the power button because I thought it was stalled or something.
It did reboot and everything seems to be fine, but still...

This didn't happen to me with this update but it has with others in the past. Maybe once or twice.
Not sure what the issue would be. Must be some bug that stalls the installer when its finished. |

I updated, but did not install right away. When I stopped the Mac Mini, it did the "windows thing installed before shutting done. The following day, it seemed tot take a bit longer before the Leopard screen appeared, but no issues so far...

I updated 10.4.11 on my Mini and 10.5.1 on my MacBook, with no problems on either.
