Thursday, December 13, 2007
Posted by: Charles
Apple has released QuickTime 7.3.1 for Panther, Tiger and Leopard via Mac OS X's Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, QuickTime 7.3.1 addresses security issues and is recommend for all QuickTime 7 users. It fixes issues with QuickTime's Flash media handler, the handling of QTL files, and that nasty RTSP vulnerability recently discovered by Symantec. You can read more details about the security content of QuickTime 7.3.1 here.

There is a GB update in Software Update too. I didn't have trouble installing either update. I feel much safer now. |

I also got a Canon Printer Driver update..!?!?!? |
Interesting. I have a Pixma iP4200 and didn't get it. I did install the latest driver directly from Canon after installing Leopard though. Did it include any release notes?

I think it did..but alas... I didn't read them that good
this is all my console log said:
2007-12-13 20:50:19 -0500: Installed "Canon Printer Drivers Update" (1.0)
I did a quick search on Apples support site and found nothing...is there anyway to see what the release notes may have been?
I am running OS 10.5.1... my other machine running OS 10.4.11 only had a Java update and QT update...hmmmm???? _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

| No problems, but I always feel like the update process is going to stall in Leopard. It just sits there on that blue screen for the longest time after installing the actual update. I'm talking about before the restart. This one sat there for a good five minutes or so before restarting. |

Front Row 2 seems to be running much slower for me after this update. I wonder if there is a conflict with Perian or something? |

Mine seems to be working fine. I would try trashing the old com.apple.frontrow.plist file. |
