| Is there any add on box that will allow me to connect to a home audio system via component and optical inputs? |

The M Audio Transit will give you a TOSlink optical digital output. You could use a 1/8" Mini Stereo to RCA Cable for component coming out of the Transit or Mac mini. I'm using the Monster MusicConnect cable to hook up mine to a Sony amplifier. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I would recommend what Blazer said about the Transit. It also has an analog output that you could use with a converter cable if you wanted to output using component. The reason I say this is because the Transit will give you much better audio quality over the Mini's. If you're wanting to use a digital TOSlink connection, than I would assume that you would be able to tell the difference and your speakers would be able to show the difference. _________________ Computer Engineer

I'll also have to add Edirol UA-1EX as an alternative (cuz I own one and love it )
When you say component, you mean rca connection for stereo signals right? Component usually refers only to video signal connections. _________________ Mac since '86

I know that's what I mean and I just assumed it's what others meant too. _________________ Computer Engineer
