Hi,
This week i'm gonna get rid of the poxy 256 Mb ram in my mini and stick 1G in it. Can i just do a straight swap or do i need to tell the mac it has new ram?
Any help would be fab.

| Straight swap. One of my favorite utilities is the Activity Monitor. After the swap, open it up and Activity Monitor will show you how much of the 1 GB is being used, and no more paging out due to low memory! Enjoy. |

Take a look at MenuMeters. It's what I use and sure beats digging around trying to find Activity Monitor. _________________ Computer Engineer

ooh it should be quite easy..i've got the "sys stat" widget so i can see it all at the flick of f12...yay!!!  _________________ i hate wearing trousers in public!!! |

I always keep the "Activity Monitor" app running on mine. It's more in-depth than that widget. You can find it in your Utilities folder. _________________ Me with Woz!
