@Devo - That desktop seems a bit stretched across the screen. Looks like there's still work to do.

Not a huge surprise, but it looks like someone got Leo going on the Wind.

See the Mac Pros aren't faster than the Power Macs Laughing . If I didn't oppose hackintosh so much I would be tempted, but it wouldn't run OS X very effectively compared to the MacBook I want so bad (but I can't get a job).

It sounds like there are issues with the AirPort card as well. Oh well, I give him/them a week or two. The people involved with the Hackintosh community seem to work fast these days.

I'd still like to pick up a Wind when it comes out. I have no idea when that will be though. I think MSI pushed back the release date again.

They did Rolling Eyes now it's July 7th due to a "Industry wide battery shortage", but anyone who preordered gets free overnight shipping now Wink .

Cool! I still can't decide between the MSI Wind or 12" E Slim from Dell. The Dell sounds nice, but it has a 1.8" HDD. That turns me off some. It's also going to be larger. I just wanted something small to tote around. That was really the point from the beginning. Oh well, I'm going to give it a few more weeks. I think they are coming out in August. That should also give MSI more time to get the Wind out there. Maybe I'll get to see one in person.

I'm still waiting on mine from Amazon. Sad

The last I read, you still needed to swap out the cards for wireless. The rest was working pretty good.

Sure thing. I already have Kalyway 10.5.2 on DVD and ready to go.

I guess you can stop beating around the bush now. Laughing

I was going to order the Asus Eee PC 1000h the other day from Newegg, but they sold out. I saw on Gizmodo that Asus lowered to the price by $100. They still have them at J&R in the city (NYC), but haven't lowered the price yet. Plus, I would have to pay taxes. I really think the 1000h is a better deal than the Wind now. It has a better battery and 802.11n. I also like the larger trackpad with two individual buttons.

In the UK, 'PC World' have re-badged the MSI Wind as the Advent 4211 at £280. The "4211" is pictured with desktop wallpaper that looks kind of familiar....

Yeah, it's the same. I actually like the color scheme. It kinda looks like a mini MacBook Air, but with more features. Smile

You know, I think you're right! I'm really tempted to get one of these. I find that I'm using my MacBook less and less because its weight and occasional hairdryer impersonations are a PITA. I don't need a 2GHz processor when all I want to do is some outlining and text editing.
