Apple Releases iTunes 7.5 and QuickTime 7.3
Monday, November 5, 2007
Posted by: Brian
Apple has released iTunes 7.5 and QuickTime 7.3 via Mac OS X's Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, iTunes 7.5 features the ability to activate iPhone wherever service is offered and support for Phase, a new interactive music game designed exclusively for iPod nano (third generation), iPod classic, and iPod (fifth generation). This release also includes bug fixes to improve stability and performance. The download weighs in at 41.1MB.
QuickTime 7.3 for Panther, Tiger and Leopard addresses critical security issues and delivers support for iTunes 7.5, updated support for creating iPhone-compatible web content, updated JavaScript support in the QuickTime Web Plug-in, and numerous bug fixes. This release is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.

No trouble here. I was just hoping for 7.5 to be a little more exciting. |

Don't see anything new in iTunes... |
One less reason to buy Leopard.
I kid. That is a cool feature. It makes for a clean look. |

Ran the update in Leopard with software update. Now it just hangs on a window saying the boot caches are being updated. Should I manually power down? |

I wouldn't, give it time, say 10-20mins. If it doesn't by then manually shut down...You can run into problems if you shut it down while it is updating...My iMac took a while to shut down and start up after the update. I just left and got a cup of coffee!! _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

Thanks for the advice, but it's been running for over 45 minutes now. I think it might be time to pull the plug, so to speak. I hope this doesn't mess it up.
Thank god I still have my PC around. |

Mine froze with the Login and Keychain Update 1.0 during the "boot caches are being updated" process. I manually shut down and everything worked out . I think you will be fine since you gave it that long. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Now let's push out a Mail, Calendar (the real version), and Google Map update out for the iPod touch. |

I don't have the new charging icon in the source list when I connect my 5th gen iPod, but everything else seems to be working ok. Do you guys know if that is normal with this kind of iPod? |

Great!!!
More security fixes for Leopard When are we going to get 10.5.1. I really don't care about updates for quicktime. I would rather have my machine running correctly. |

I kinda have a feeling that we'll be seeing 10.5.1 before the end of the week. These updates were probably laying a little groundwork. |

That feature is only supported with the 3G nano, classic, touch and iPhone. The touch and iPhone just got the treatment with v1.1.2. |
