hey all,
i've been trying to install xcode, but for some reason it won't let me. i'm running Tiger and whenever i try to install xcode, it won't do it and tells me it can only be installed on a volume that's running 10.3 (panther, essentially)... can anyone explain that one to me? i mean, after all, the xcode package came on my tiger cd, so i'm confused. any thoughts or words of help? thanks. |

XCode 2.x will only run on Tiger. You have the install disc, so why don't you upgrade? Should take on 30 for the install and a couple hours for the Spotlighting. My Spotlight db building took like 30 mins because I didn't have much stuff on there.
You can only use XCode 1.2 on Panther. _________________ Computer Engineer

Susurrus, I don't think you quite read correctly
He *is* running Tiger, but it says he has to have *Panther* to install.
Unfortunately, I can't offer you any help, as I don't have my Mac. (yet). |

Okay, sorry about that. You're trying to install XCode off of the DVD? My Tiger install put the XCode installer in an "Installation" folder in my Applications folder. There should be an mpkg in there that will install it, though I did my install directly off the DVD. _________________ Computer Engineer
