Hello everyone.
As you can see, I'm new to this community. I ordered my Mac Mini last Friday, so I don't have it yet, but I'm eagerly waiting for it. I've been browsing the Apple Store and have been looking for some software to buy in the near future for my little Mac. X² has gotten my attention in the department of games, and even though the Mac Mini meets the minimum requirements, I've been wondering if any of you have played this game on the Mini? I'm kind of worried about the graphics card's 32MB of VRAM. Will the Mini be able to run this game fluently on medium or low settings?
Besides that, what other space shooter or space strategy games could you recommend for the Mac?
Thanks in advance. |

Space strategy? Space strategy, you say? STARCRAFT! You can get the entire Battle Chest for like$ 15, and it runs on everything. My friend runs it on Win98, and before that, on Win95, till he "upgraded". The graphics are kinda cruddy, but it's fun. Also warcraft 3 is a good option, another strategy game. _________________ Gone. |

| Space strategy like Homeworld and Nexus, the Jupiter Incident. They're a bit different from regular RTS games, like StarCraft and Warcraft. Or space shooters like Starlancer, Freelancer, Rogue Squadron, Freespace, Wing Commander Prophecy, etc. |

Space Strategy? Star Control 2: Ur-Quan Masters.
Yes, a bit dated and no fancy graphics but still addictive. _________________ 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

I have tried demo versions of both X2, and homeworld 2 on my mac mini ( 1.42, 512mb sdram) And both run well on default video settings. I was actually contemplating buying the full version of X2, it runs better on my mac, and yet my pc is supposed to be for games! |
