TheNerds.net carries the 250GB for $203.82, the 160GB for $160.23, and the 80GB for $134.06. Shipping is about $10 - $16. Just get the part numbers from the manufacturers web site and do a Froogle search for it.
I am almost tempted to buy the 80GB and but my 200GB drive in it. _________________ 1.42Ghz

|
|
I just talked to Tech Support at Acomdata yesterday about booting from the Mini Pal. If you look through the user's guide on the acomdata web site, it sounds like it isn't bootalbe and can't be used as a startup disk. However, in a review at Amazon, someone claims to use it as a startup drive.
So, the tech says it is bootable, but you need a firware upgrade and emailed me the files. I pointed out that it doesn't sound that way from the website and suggested they fix up their marketing so it would be clear, since many of us want to boot from it to speed things up.
I oredered mine this morning from thenerds.net. |

Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but want to share the love.
I just received my NIB 250 gig Acomdata Mini Pal today for the price of $170.00 US. Unbelievable! I got it at the following address:
www.spacecentersystems.com
Also, you may want to check the following links from pricegrabber:

I can boot from my 250GB Acomdata firewire ($100 post rebate/sale) drives (not the MiniPal series), even though Acomdata website says you can't. They are cloned from the MacMini drive using the restore function in OSX.
My drives are Western Digital, what drives are coming in the MiniPal? |

| Something to be aware of: the acomdata mini pal has usb slots, but isn't a usb drive. It's firewire only. I was having noise issues with my firewire sound card and tried to move the drives to usb. No go. Then I read the specs, and basically, it's just a usb hub in the case. |
