Its already in perfect 16:9 ratio. Filled my 20" widescreen 100%. No black borders at all. |

My 4:3 TV doesn't have a letterbox/widescreen mode. The AppleTV doesn't have a 4:3 output option. Everything sent by AppleTV to my TV shows up as anamorphic (i.e. vertically stretched, tall people).
If I export with a wrong aspect ratio (i.e. "reverse anamorphic"), it ends up displaying with the right aspect ratio on my TV (16:9, letterboxed). |

Thats a lot more complicated than it should have to be. Maybe its better to use a mini instead. |

That's more complicated than it should have to be because:
- my TV doesn't have a widescreen mode for 16:9 content
- the AppleTV doesn't have a letterbox mode for 4:3 TVs
Granted, I knew all this when I bought it, but I was half-expecting Apple to release a simple software update to add 4:3 support to the AppleTV, which could easily be done. After all, the AppleTV wasn't supposed to support 480i either, but it did anyway.

That is an excellent guide for newbies. It might even be good for us old creatures of habit to take a peak at. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
