Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with safari " Unable to find server"? Every now and then I launch safari, and I get that message. I have my PC ran wirelessly to the Modem in the other room, I launch the browser and No Problems, so I know it's not the server. After several minutes, I go back in the other room with the mini and it has loaded my home page. What gives? _________________ Mac: Mac mini 1.42 512MB |

Is it a Linksys router? I know some models drop the wireless connection for no apparent reason. _________________ 1.42Ghz

No it's not a linksys router, it's a 2wire and plugged directly into the ethernet port. Have never had this happen on the PC. It almost seems like it opens safari faster than the connection can catch up with. Sometimes it comes up with the can't find server or you're not connected to the internet, then within about 20-30 seconds my homepage comes up I am about to get the ibook and hope to be able to connect to the router wirelessly, and I hope this isn't a common problem. _________________ Mac: Mac mini 1.42 512MB |

Try giving the mini a static IP address. You may also want to try Firefox or Camino to see if it a browser issue or a network issue. _________________ 1.42Ghz

I would see if there is a firmware update for your router.
From my experiences Belkin and SMC routers whereas Linksys does. I never had that problem with my Belkin and SMC routers unless my cable went out and even then the still reconnected 99% of the time. _________________ 1.42Ghz
