The cat and mouse games over ringy-dingies may be fun iPhone owners, but I don't want to be updating iTunes every other week. It's slowly becoming a hassle. Just let it go Apple. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

This might be worth reading: Appleās Ringtones and Copyright Law.
Remember that as soon as it involves music, movies or TV shows, Apple can't do whatever they want. |

Where there is a will, there is a way. They really can't blame Apple for everything. As for Apple, they should try increasing the functionality of these devices out of the gate instead of crippling them. Take the iPod touch for example. Why doesn't that device have mail and better calendar functionality? It's just stupid. They are asking for more hacks. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Depends what the topic is to know who's to blame. We're supposed to be talking about iTunes and ringtunes here.
Of course if we are talking about the iPod touch and its lack of email and Google Maps applications, then yes I agree with you. The hardware can do it, why not add it. Especially when the software is already written and compatible with the device! They kept Safari in there but removed Mail? |

Apple isn't losing me, but I'm really concerned about the quality of the products they are shipping these days. It almost seems like they are in a "if it works once, ship it" mode.
I hope that is a manufacturing defect with the early units and not a sign of bigger problems with the iPod touch. That would be a bummer. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
