Right now I have a Core 2 Duo MacBook. In the summer I will pick up either a cheap iMac or a Mini to bring the grand total to 2! _________________ MacBook 1.83Ghz C2D, 2GB Ram, 160GB 7200rpm HDD, OS X 10.6.5

o.k. I gotta up the ante' I now have 5! Just added a 2Ghz Macbook for my new company. What a great little notebook! Until now I've only had the iBook G3 which is great as well but, mainly I've had desktops. I am falling more in love with Apple's notebooks and am already eyeing up a Macbook Pro! Come on lucky number 6!!! _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

3. mac mini (1.66 ghz, 2 gb ram with superdrive, the media hub, leopard)
4. macbook (2.16 ghz, 2 gb ram, the portable for school, leopard)

When I buy my daughter her MacBook Pro, I'll get it from her school store since it's is cheaper there than buying it from Apple with the education discount. She's getting it for graduation, I will have to give a call to the school to see when I can buy it since she has been accepted. That will be no. 6. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

I've had 6, but not all at once.
On the subject of education store and school discounts. Are you sure that you can't get a better deal from someone like Amazon or ClubMac? They always seem to have rebates going on. I mean $1,763 gets you out the door with an entry-level MPB at Amazon right now. Plus, you'll save on the old sales tax. |

I took a look, I see what you mean. When I am ready to buy, which will be in June once she graduates HS, I'll look again. Since the school she would be going to has an Apple Store, I may buy it there, since the price is cheaper than if I bought it through Apple. I'll look at other options, as well. Thanks for the tip. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

No problem. That good sales tax is a killer on big-ticket items. |

I think she's really going to like the new trackpad on the MacBook Pro. I'm going to have to pop in to my Apple Store to check it out. I'll do some comparison when we buy it, which won't be until at least April, it is a graduation present, but since she's already been accepted to the school, I should be able to buy it from them if I that is the best deal. Back in the day, I ordered from MacConnection, MacZone, MacMall, etc., and I remember when you ordered software, it was shipped Airborne for $3 and you had it the next day, how sweet that was. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

Well, now it's 7. Devo, I took your advice , thanks. My wife picked up a 17" MacBook Pro from Amazon, no tax, $150 rebate. So I ordered my daughter's from MacMall, same deal, came out less than edu store. May buy her AppleCare from them, though, price is right for that. That one will be here tomorrow. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

Lord Lummy Aquafire, that's quite an impressive collection, although it looks like Bobaloo has caught you up!
Back in 1993, I used to stand outside my university's Apple dealership with my nose pressed against the window, enviously staring at the Colour Classic... _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

Not in the US, unfortunately. Education prices are cheaper, but not included.
Though we still pay less than you guys do, even though we have to get Applecare separately. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

The Color Classic was nice, never had one, but in '90, I had the LC, (pizza box,) which a short time later when the LClll came out, I had it upgraded at a cost of $500 where they replaced the motherboard and case. The true first color Mac and then I had a Power PC 601, 2 of those.
The AppleCare at the Edu price is $239. I picked one up for my wife on ebay for around the same price, but this one I'll probably just either buy from Apple or from the college she will be going since they are an authorized Apple education dealer. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

I might be the only one who thinks this, but I find it such a weird experience to go onto eBay and see the machines that were completely unaffordable to me in the 90s, being sold for pocket change...
