slight mail problem....

for some reason, every time i open mail.... it shows in the dock as being open, and the bar at the to of the screen says "mail" and has all the usual tabs.... but no window opens and nothing shows. then every time i go to quit from mail... it doesn't shut down. i have to force quit it all the time. i've tried repairing permissions, emptying all my cashes, i used pacifist to reinstall the mail package... but nothing seems to work. any other thoughts on what i can do? thanks.

Try disconnecting your ethernet connection and restart without it connected. Click on Mail and see if it will load.
