The savings might be applicable to CRTs, but not with LCDs. If you want to do something that really helps, switch out your incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescents. |

The only incandescent in my room are in my ceiling fan and it rarely gets used, I would love to get an LCD TV (to save power of course ). I also considered power management when comparing an iMac to a building my own, iMac won with a single cable that wouldn't require a new UPS versus a tower and monitor set that would (with the new iMacs though it's very close only down side is GPU). _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I don't like Yahoo search, but they have that same feature on their homepage now. Newegg does the same thing with product searches. |
Apple just added the same feature in iTunes. |

I switched to compact fluorescents some time back. I'm happy with them. The only place I don't use them is in the kitchen, since they don't dim in the hats I've got installed. I like the fact that they last a long time. I have a very high ceiling in my family room and changing the bulbs in the hats there is a chore. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram
