Apple has released AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n Firmware 7.2.1. According to the company, AirPort Extreme Base Station Firmware version 7.2.1 is now Wi-Fi certified for 802.11n draft 2.0. This update also includes bug fixes and security updates. It is available via the AirPort Admin utility as a 4.6MB download. The update requires AirPort Utility 5.1 or later. If you have AirPort Utility 5.0 installed, you can update to AirPort Utility 5.2.1 by installing AirPort Base Station Update 2007-002.

I downloaded and applied this update with no problems. I did find it frustrating that it didn't show up in software update. I had to open the airport utility then it let me know that there was a firmware update available. I think most folks out there wouldn't know about this update and wouldn't open the airport utility to check for it. There must be a better way of doing this especially if some of these updates are security related. _________________ Would you like to learn more about me?
