I'm really surprised by the way that Apple have rolled the glossy screens out across the board, when so many people on this site have expressed serious reservations. So I was curious about how much of a deal-breaker this was. If you were given the choice when buying a MacBook or an iMac, which screen would you insist upon? _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

Glossy screen is a deal breaker for me. Luckily I don't have to worry about the screen of a mac mini. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

| I've never used a glossy screen so I'll reserve my vote until I do. |

Only one going for glossy here? Oh well, I like glossy since when side by side with a matte I can see a difference but other wise not to obvious, but glossy has never really been a deal breaker since I rarely use a computer outside and use laptops more for a in car or on vacation thing. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

Matte/Gore 08!
I'm not a fan of glossy screens. There is just something about them that doesn't agree with my eyes. And I'm talking beyond the glare. |

I have a glossy screen on my MBP and I love it, but it is really a matter of choice or taste when it comes to the two screen choices.
I will admit that the glossy screens can be annoying when you're in the sunlight but it hasn't proven a problem for me. _________________ - MacBook Pro, 15inch, 2.4GHz, 2GB, 160GB HDD, SuperDrive. I Love this Mac!!!!

I sat outside next to two of my friends a while ago, one with matte, one with glossy, and you could barely see anything on the glossy screen.
Indoors, however, the thing is gorgeous, though that doesn't help me, as I like to take my laptop outside quite a bit, and it's hard to hide from sunshine in SoCal. _________________

| Matte screens are my personal preference. I like the way colors and blacks looks on glossy displays, but I can't stand the reflections. |

I have a glossy screen iMac and whilst the colours look bold and bright compared to a matte screen, the reflections are a big issue.
I have sort of got used to the reflections now, and the reflection issue isn't a deal breaker for me because the room I use the iMac in is quite dull, but given the choice I would change to a Matte screen. _________________ Phil

Right now I would say glossy, because my desk is situated where it doesn't get much glare (if any at all), but if I was buying a laptop, I would say matte, as I tend to use laptops outside a lot. _________________ The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.
