| I received my $599 Mac mini this afternoon! How far does the CD have to be in before the motor activates and takes over. Mine doesn't take until the CD in 98% in the slot. Is this normal? |

| Good to hear! Thanks for replying to a silly question. This is my first slot-loading drive, and I was worried there was something wrong with it. |

That's what mine does, these slot loaders aren't like your car stereo
I had an issue with mine while trying to play a dvd once, it just sounded like it was spinning in the drive, and nothing would read from it. I was able to eject, re-insert and that solved the problem. Shook me up though, brand new mini and all _________________ Me with Woz!

I thought it would act like a car stereo. I can't stop smiling today! This Mac mini is a blast to look at and work on. |

Same with mine.
I don't care for the way it feeds. You put the CD/DVD in about 95% of the way, then the Mac quickly hoovers it in. It then groans and farts a little. The eject isn't much more elegant. It doesn't seem very Mac like. But hey, it works. |
