Like I mentioned earlier, I intend on doing a clean install of Tiger onto the new hard drive that I ordered. Well the thing is, my hard drive hasn't come yet and I want to take a test drive, ha ha.

The question is, with all of the licensing restrictions and what not, will I be allowed to upgrade my current system and after that do a fresh install on the new HD or will this cause issues?

hmmm...

OK I don't really know... but i'll take a stab in the dark and say that you'll be fine. Really, I wouldnt worry about installing tiger on two drives, and if you really want to be super careful about licensing agreements, put tiger on the mac drive, then use disk utility to create an image of your harddrive, and then restore it to the external drive, then delete it off your internal. if that doesnt make sense sorry i'll try to rephrase it.

Well, there is no activation process when you install Tiger and the license is tied to the computer, not the hard drive. You could have a hundred bootable hard drives with the one license, they would just have to be in the same computer.
