Microsoft today announced the availability of the Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.0 (Beta). The Remote Desktop Connection Client lets you connect to a Microsoft Windows-based computer and work with programs and files on that computer from your Macintosh computer. It includes the following new features: Universal Binary; Remote Desktop Protocol 6.0; Multiple Sessions; Improved User Experience; Improved Customization Options; Dynamic Screen Resizing; and Improved Printing Support. This Beta release expires on March 31, 2008.
Microsoft also released the Office Open XML File Format Converter for Mac 0.2 (Beta) today. With the Office Open XML Converter, you can convert Office Open XML files to a format that is compatible with Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac and Microsoft Office v. X for Mac. You can choose to convert and open one file, or convert a large number of files. According to the company, this version of the converter improves conversion of Word documents that contain XML content, inline graphics, hyperlinked graphics, WMF/EMF graphics, SmartArt graphics, tracked changes in the document header and footer, Unicode characters, and Japanese Rubi fields. In addition, this version succeeds when converting Word documents that contain bibliography fields, citation fields, and complex tables.

Just today I was thinking what a pain it was to switch to parallels because RDC for Mac was SLOW. I think it has been 3 years since this has been updated.
This operates MUCH faster. The old version was almost unusable for me. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

| I'm happy to see MS making some effort for their OSX version of their products. Its not as fast as their flagship Windows, but granted their MacBus Unit has less resources. I'm sure as need keeps rising so will MS and creating OSX versions. |
