| Hi im a new member to 123Macmini, and i read something about incompatability with CRT monitors. Well i got a 20in CRT monitor made by NEC...will this be compatable with my mac mini that i plan to get in the near future, or will i have to get a LCD? |

There have been issues with the display being dim as in this thread http://www.123macmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=923&highlight=dim+video
It is a VGA output problem not a CRT or LCD problem. For some changing the DVI to VGA adapter worked.
I use an LCD through the adapter and there is a difference between my mini and my windows box where windows is actually a bit too brite and needed adjustments in the video driver. I also had to change the monitor profile that OS X wanted to use as it "washed out" the display. In the end i am happier with the output of my mini than with my windows machine. |

If you can post your NEC's model number than I may be able to dig up information on how well it works with the Mini. _________________ Computer Engineer

| It's hard to say what CRT's will be affected. I think older models were the ones having trouble. I could be wrong! What resolution are you using? |
