Found this over at Digg. Very funny. More here and here. He even has his own Wikipedia page!
I wonder how he goes to the toilet... _________________ 20" iMac 1.8/160/1G

I think Apple fans are making a bigger deal out this than Greg Packer is. The guy has been first in line for numerous events. He probably won't keep the iPhone and he doesn't own a Mac.
The begging part is ridiculous, but I'm sure it's just a publicity stunt. I also wouldn't be surprised if he actually gets a few donations. He'll probably end up getting his iPhone for free between donations and advertising.
Greg Packer has likely met more famous people and has been written about more times than you I. Whether he is a loser or not is a matter of opinion. In his mind he is a success. Aparently his is going to be sucessful at getting an iPhone where many others will fail.
He'll probably be able to sell his iPhone for a profit larger than some people make in 4 days. So who's the loser then... the guy getting abused working at a minimum wage job, or Greg Packer for having a passion and living it? |

I did not know that we are expecting a shortage of Iphones...
Its not like the playstation, where you buy it and off you go.
Here you are locked in a contract... |

If you don't activate a contract. I don't see any issue with selling it. Apparently you can activate the phone through iTunes so is doesn't have to be done at the point of sale.
There is no guaranteed shortage. But that can be said for all the past product releases. For Greg Packer I don't think it really matters if there is a shortage, he just wants to be first in line to get one.
Call it weird, stupid or whatever you will. Greg Packer has a passion to be first and he's living it. Some people are boring and don't have passions, others just don't have the balls to live their passions. |

well it may be a passion, but it's making him money. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

| I'm not camping out for this one. I'll just order mine from Apple.com this weekend. My afternoon will be spent trying to break my other cell phone contract. |
