It seemed to be fairly easy. I was impressed. I didn't spend more than 5 minutes on it though.

That is good to hear. I've read mixed things about typing. Needing pointy fingers was the term one person mentioned. So I'm thinking my thumbs might be too big for the two-finger method. Pecking around with one finger might be a little slow. Do you know if there is a way to turn of the clicking sound when you type? I think that would get a little annoying after while. Although, that feedback is probably a must. |

The iPhone I used must have been on silent, because I didn't hear any clicking sounds...

I have a problem too, the closest 3G area is 20 miles away (Belleville), however AT&T has the best coverage in my town (New Athens) also it's where I go a lot for bowling and to the movies (there's a small theater that has 3 movies at a time but $3.50 matinee and if you bring back a large cup from them with a fitting lid they will refill it it for $1.00). I might get a spotty 3G signal in a town only 10 miles (Freeburg) away, but I looked and I could easily lose it on and off again 4 times going from one end to the other (W to E), but if I'm at home I could use Wi-Fi in my house.

well it's about the same reason for being on internet on a PSP at home, just because you can.

| ya id do it too of course....but itll be nice when the coverage is evvvvvvvvverywhere. just so youre never out of touch, not that i'm receiving important emails or anything ever but just to have it is cool. |

I have an 8Gb iPhone, typing is easier than it was on my Treo, IMO. After only 2 days, I am typing almost as fast on my iPhone as I do on my MacMini!
Yes you can turn off the "clicking" sound, I leave it on though, it seems to help with typing. You don't really even need to look at the keyboard, it knows the position of the letters, and the order in which you are hitting the display, as long as your in the general area, it will figure out the word. I know it sounds to good to be true, and no it's not perfect but, it is the best predictive text I've used/seen.
The iPhone ROCKS and is everything that is shown on Apple's site.

Well, you should be ok then. The iPhone doesn't do 3G.  |

yeah i realized that later on, if it was 3G then there wouldn't be problems with speed being limited.
