|

Good morning.
I just got my 20" Cinema display yesterday at an Apple store near some relatives I was visiting out of state (pays to go on trips I guess...). Got home late last night, so I'm setting up my display this morning.
Couple of quick questions.
1. Is there any "film" over the screen that needs to be peeled off? Doesn't look like it but sometimes this stuff is tricky.
2. Same thing but on the sides over the controls, etc.?
Thanks.
This thing is great.. but bright!!! Getting my settings correct so I don't have to squint when I look at it... |

I don't own a Cinema Display yet, but the Samsung monitor I just opened a couple weeks back did not have the film over the display. If you can't tell, then I'd say it doesn't. You'd be able to tell near the edges. Again if you can't tell, I'd leave it. (It's only going to protect it.) I've left the film over my iPods click wheel since day one to keep it protected. My case doesn't cover that part. It works great. I often leave that film on products if it doesn't cause heat issues or make the product look ugly.
Read your set-up instructions they should tell you.
I'm sure you'll get an answer from a Cinema Display owner within an hour or so.
Congrats on such a beautiful monitor. I'm glad you never bought a Dell. |

That's good. Many people have some sort of fear that the Cinema Displays are not bright enough, because Dell boasts a bigger number in that area on a spec sheet.
Your not using it the dark by chance |
