I agree. There will always be differences in opinion. The culture of 123macmini has been to respect one another's differences. If we all had the same thoughts and opinions this forum would be rather boring. Lack of respect for one another harms the forum. A debate with mutual respect for one another can make for an interesting discussion and an enjoyable read. |

I couldn't agree more. However, when someone calls me an uneducated ass and a moron for reading the upgrade instructions and therefore having zero problems, I get a bit pissed off. _________________ Mac mini 1 (Old Timer - test Box @ home) : 1.42 PPC @ 1.75, 1GB Memory, 320G HD

Now they released 3.0 and my paid and trial activation keys don't work. Plus, 3.0 converts your old VM's to work with the new Beta and you can't go back. So, I can't use my VM's anymore because Parallels won't accept my activations keys and I can't use the VM's with an older version.
I've lost all respect for this app so I'm sticking with BootCamp. |
You can dl a trial key that works for 14 days during which you can decide whether or not the new version is worht its money. |

The software is ready for public use and the few that do have problems are mainly those that have not taken the time to check the enclosed information. |

Seems pretty tempting now using Direct X so I can edit, Part of me wants to tyr and part of me wants to wait for Leopard that will probably have this built in and better. I like the idea of not having to restart and maybe run both at the same time. Foes Parrels support USB 2 and Fiewire and all that stuff?

Yes. |
No, actually. It supports USB 1.1, some USB2, and no Firewire devices. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

Odd. My email appeared pretty much instantaneously after I paid for the upgrade. I would check your spam filters / junk mail. |
Good thought, Sparkstack. Unfortunately, download instructions were neither present in my junk mail or university spam filters. Has anyone else paid for an electronic download upgrade and not received it yet? _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

Does it co-exist with Bootcamp? would I have to re-install Windows or does it pickup the existing Windows partition? Im just wondering if it would be wise to try it or not if it would work with my editing software and network storage.

Usage of bootcamp partition should be possible. But why don't you simply go to their website, dl the app, ask a trial serial, RTFM and find out what is possible? |

That will only change my paid copy to an evaluation copy. I need the serial number that they send me. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

Paid copy is the same as evaluation copy. The evaluation copy becomes paid copy by entering a valid SN.
So IF you have a valid SN dl the software, start it up, enter SN and you're set. |

Obviously Fox doesn't have his activation key yet. This is exactly what he's been posting about the entire time. You've even quoted him on it:

Sorry if I understood it rong but this makes the case highly peculiar.
Standard procedure was that after ordering & paying you get an serialnumber and you can DL the product (trial & definite are the same).
If he has not received a SN (and checked his spambox!) then he can start using an evaluation SN valid for 14 days (no limitations, full product) and contact Parallels about the problem. Even better contact Digital River (sales organisation). When he has his SN he can enter that and the product is no longer trial software.
So most likely culprit is then his spamfilter or that of his provider. |
