I am tempted to by a shell Aopen machine. Even w/o CPU and memory they are somewhat expensive, but I have my old core duo CPU from my mini from when I upgraded it, and I can get cheap ram on tigerdirect. _________________ Mac mini core 2 duo 2.33/2 GB RAM/160 GB 5K160, Dell 20.1" wide-aspect

they shouldn't drop the mini...
If they do, regardless...Leopard will be running fine and dandy on my current Mini come October...because I already know it will work just fine.
They need to refine the mini to Core2Duo....and after all, this is just a rumor. I think the Mini is here to stay... _________________ 1.66Ghz Mac Mini, 80gb Hard Drive, 512mb RAM(Soon to be upgraded to 2gb). 20" Widescreen Dell Flat-Panel, Panasonic Stereo Sound System, Apple Wireless Keyboard/Mighty Mouse. 30gb Black iPod Video. |

I'm so tired of hearing about the iPhone. Yes rumor sites, we know it's coming out in June. It's like Groundhog's Day everyday. |

Sigh... don't you all realize that this is just a RUMOR? It was a speculation from someone who has absolutely zero proof of his claims.

Even if Apple ditches the Mini I believe it will still have a "Mini-like" product in it's line.
Look at this:

Kind of interesting. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I have a cheaper Mattias keyboard; comes with a two button scroll mouse and has a vertical usb 2.0 connection at the top of the keyboard. Keys also go clickity-clack. A bit noisy, but I like the sound feedback. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

I do. I have a lot of trouble with the original article and AppleInsider and Think Secret in general. Most of the article was a carbon copy of one posted on Hardmac (can't find it right now). It would be funny if that was his "source". _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I can't recall the specific rumor, but about four years ago, before Macworld in January, there was a series of articles from the various rumor sites "confirming" some big rumor, when in reality, each one was referencing the other in a big circle of inane logic. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

| This would be sad, never have I owned a workhorse like the mini! My mini is chugging away almost 24x7x365 and it never skips a beat. My 1 and ONLY gripe with the mini is the video situation. I say add another layer to the mini so we can add a killer videocard of our choice. If they do away with the mini I sure hope they come up with a micro tower headless system with some good config options, I could live with that. |

| I have my fingers crossed that this isn't true, but it wouldn't surprise me. Apple seems to be a little out of touch with their customer base. This might be because they are growing so apparently fast. Either way, I don't like the direction Apple is taking. Eliminating a computer that the 'everyman' can afford would only further my disappointment in them. |

| I've been waiting for the mac mini to get upgraded before switching. I sure hope the discontinuation of the mac mini is just a rumour. If Apple thinks I should just stay with Microsoft that's their loss. |
